2 mile warm up
800m Kosmin Test; I felt really strong the first lap and ran around a 57. It might be the cold or just that its our first work out, but I felt pretty drained on the second lap. Usually its my arms or legs that burn in the 800 but today it was my lungs. Still it was an improvement from the last one we did.

Weights keep getting better and better. Not easier, but I feel myself getting stronger.

| | Kale Scott Joe and I went to Barrel Roll. I tripped for like the first time ever and not even at a steep part haha. I love running down mountains. This biker dude asked us if we were running in College because he hardly ever gets passed by runners, but we did.

| | I promised myself no 0 mile days but I had to get trained for Glenn's all morning and my dad said I had to hang out with the Family for the holiday. My parents want me to stop running if I can't get my grades up... I am really banking on this ACT thing haha...

no glenns but school was really stressful today I am just so worried about my future..
3 miles down the Fire Road and an 18 minute Tempo back. We got 3.03mi so right on pace. I was feeling really strong for the first 2 miles but the last one was just a mental hurdle I had to get over. I did and stayed with everyone the whole time. The top 7 were Kale, Rex, Tanner, Sage, Scott, Joe, Me so that was cool. Hopefully Jaiden and Spencer come back out tho.

we did homework at Joes and then sage brought me back for Young Mens. We cleaned the Homeless Shelter Cafeteria/Kitchen. It was such a humbling experiece because these people have nothing and I was concerned with keeping my shoes clean. Life is all about Perspective.

3.5 mile warm up and 20 min tempo back to the highschool from Spectrum. At school I told Joe I might not be able to stay with the pack but I did. We made it to the tennis Courts and our pace was 5:50ish. Great workout.

| | Ran to Webb Hill
It rained all lastnight and today.
Spencer Neville was there and he seems really cool anyway we did the first 3 and it was hard but I stayed in the top pack. On the last one I could barely get up the hill. One of the hardest repeats for me in a long time. I still was maybe the 7 or 8 guy up the hill. I was feeling really down just because of everything that has been going on the last little while. I took off my shoes and just took it really slow down the hill bc I didn't want to talk to anybody.
On our way back to the school Coach came back and talked to me about everything that I was stressing about. I was trying not to cry but I failed. He helped me so much. He said that stress is just part of life and we have to deal with loss but I'm still a good kid. I try but usually it doesn't seem that way.. Anyway it was probably the best advise ive ever recieved. He said that this is all part of whatever we are here for. I am so thankful to have a man, mentor and coach like that in my life.

We ran around Little Black Mt. to the Petroglyphs and then climbed up and ran to the top. Great View!!!
We ran back to the car but only had 7 miles (4.29 on my watch but thats because we ran next to the Verizon tower so we probably have Cancer now...) so we ran 3mi through this cool purple canyon.

| | I missed morning practice. Im sick, my parents are in Mexico and yet THAT IS NO EXCUSE. I need to visualise my goals. I can do all of this.
2 mile warm up
4x1600m at 5:32. I hit 5:30, 5:34, 5:32, 5:36. My whole right side cramped up, by far the worst cramping ive experienced in years. I just buried the pain and ran the whole 2nd mile with my hands pressing on my right 3 abs. I was bummed bc Bryson was at 5:23 pace with Tanner and Scott but I passed him on 2, 3 and 4. The first Track workout was very rough, at least mentally. We had 2x200 starts just to get position. 1 mile cooldown. I came out 4th both times. Weights with the Football team watching and then stretch.
Helped brock write a song when I got home.
I realised I want a man bun.

we had an awesome adventure that included (but was not limited) to; WWI, WWII, Lord of the Rings, Scientology, Fascism, a plethora of hypothetical questions and some aweome one liners from Josh Gibb. A very needed run.

8x2 min at 85% coach whistles and we go all out until he whistles again. One of my favorite workouts of 2015. I was 4th or 5th most of the time. Bryson stayed right with me and it was really nice because scott and tanner do things a little different so we werent next to each other most of the time.

(im accually writing this a few days later and I had to read Joe's because I don't really remember this workout haha) (I remember the Popsicles though).

| | Woke up in Warner Valley because me and Brock went camping. Bonding time. Our birthdays are both this week. Right when we got back we had to go aerating and we did until about 3. Then I just slept and watched Backstrom. I was so tired. I went to Cadens and Joe left but came back and we played Destiny and Apples to Apples when Chloe came over. Sarah Milne <3 texted me first and came over with Aubrey. We watched The Dark Knight. I sat next to sarah and lets just say we shared the same blanket and it was a wonderful Valentine's Day.

| | i drove way out into AZ and found a cool mountain pass thing. I dropped down into a river bed and a dead rabbit thing was on the ground next to a dead fox thing. They both freaked me out but I thought hey this is the wilderness everything is ok. I ran up the river bed for a mile or so and I just had the worst feeling that someone was watching me so I scrambled up out of the ravine and guess what was on top by the road. A dead cow. I freaked out and ran really fast up the road and really fast back down to get 7 miles.

For afternoon practice we had a long meeting and then warm up/calisthenics then 1 mile warm up. then 6x200m and I stayed at 33-34s. I led our 1000m and went 1:12 for the first lap and 1:19 for the second but we hit our time of 3:15.. so.. For the mile I just felt really good and focused on my Rythm. My arms are looking a lot better. The last 4x200m went really good. Joe keeps going 30ish and I want to go with him but I try to just stay with the times and save it for the Mile and stuff.. idk. I went with Joe on the last one and we got 26-27 so Im exited to see what we can do this season.
Weights (not in the weight room because we were running late ((no pun intednded)) and lost the weight room to football) and stretch.
In totally unrelated news Imagine Dragon's Smoke + Mirrors just came out and it is straight fire.

We drove to this trial place behind the road behind Dixie Rock. It was kind of rainy and beautiful. Coaches Birthday is sometime this week so Happy Birthday!
When I drove out there I played some Elliot Moss and I think some 8th and 9th grade girls just found out how weird I am hahaha

| | After we left the Carribean side we drove for a few hours to get to Sarapiqui. I felt the itch to run and judged I had about an hour of sunlight. I went out 2.5 and suddenlt a huge rainstorm came in and I couldnt see 30m ahead of me. Everything was water. It got dark and I could only see cars right when they passed me but eventually I got back to the hotel and jumped in the pool to dry off ;)

In the afternoon we went to the La Fortuna waterfall. There are a few hundred steps to get to the bottom so we could swim. Well I jogged down and we hung out there for a while. Then everyone started pressuring me to race up and see how long it would take me. A lot of people had heard that I am a big runner but they hadnt been up in the morning or in the rainstorm to see me run so they wanted evidence. I ran as hard as I could and I got a 3:39. Most people hiked out in 10-15 mins. I was feeling pretty good and all the group had reached the top so it was time to leave but then this girl from Tampa, Sydney is her name, realised she left her shorts at the bottom of the waterfall. She is cute and I wanted to help her out so I ran all the way down, slid past some germans who were blocking the whole path, looked in the pond thing and ran all the way back up in 7:12.

I measured 400m up a cobblestone street.
i only did 10x400m I was hitting my times and it was even a little bit uphill! I went 72 73 74 76 74 75 74 77 73 69. I had to cut it short because our bus started so I quickly ran 1 mile cooldown and changed and went on the bus. We went snorkeling out on this Island thing and I hiked some trails. I also got stung by a Jellyfish.
Tonight is our last night in CR. Brock and I ordered this huge pina colada at a restaraunt in town and I made sure to ask "por un Colada de Virgin" and the serving lady came right out so I told her one of the coladas was for us and she gave it to us. brock didnt like the taste so I drank the whole thing and it kind of burned my throught but I thought whatever. After I had fineshed we pieced together that our Virgin Pina colada had never been made and I just drank a ton of alcohol. Brock threw up and my cast-iron stomache got jacked.

I was buzzed the whole night but I went to bed at 1:00 am.
We left at 3:00am for our plane that left at 7:00.
We landed in MIA 9:00 UT time. Then we found out our flight was delayed until 5:00 that NIGHT.
I spent a lot of time playing uno and playing maracas with Brocks little coconut thing he bought.
We left MIA at 5:00 and the 5 hour flight brought us into Vegas at 10:00. I had not slept since the 2 hours I got before we left.
My mom drove us back home and I finally got to bed around 3:00am.

| | Woke up around noon and my freaked out on me for not calling a guy for aerating. I just got back into the country after a 22 hour adventure of no sleep and a Pina Colada. I went and did a few lawns and at 3 I was driving past the High School and realised they were having practice. I was already in running shorts and my onld Virratas so I joined them.
I felt pretty out of it mentally but here is what we did i think;
2 mile warm up
3x1000 I was supposed to hit 3:14 but i was coming in around 3:24 with Josh Gibb right behind me. He passed me on the 800 on our last repeat but I turned on the nitros and caught him. After #3 I fell down and threw up a little into the drain. I also peed into the drain. I got a lot of water and we cooled down 1 mile.

| | woke up and found Scott. We were going to do 6 and headed out towards SLC. We could see the skyscrapers and were already at 4 miles so we just kept getting closer and went to the temple and realized we were at 7.5 so we ran back and I felt great. I kept my form in check the whole time. We did 15 miles in just over 2 hours that's including crosswalks and photoshoot at the temple haha. We hurried and changed and the bus drove is over to Skills USA. Scott and I signed up for this Utah representative thing we had to debate and do a speech and we both got voted in!!! We are going to Kentucky!!!

I came through the mile at 5:04 ish and I kind of fell behind 50-100m for the rest of the race but the last 800m was really strong and I even passed scott. Its a slow time but I felt really strong.

I felt pretty strong going into the race and managed to stay towards the front. I came in at 4:55 which tied my PR so its good to see some improvement but im nowhere near where I want to be.

We went back to their house and watched Conference. then I mowed Pats lawn and watched the rest. I went to priesthood and back to tanners to sleep.

Panther Relays (0.5 Miles) 00:02:12 | | I ran the 800m for the Distance Medley. My team was Tanner (1200) Gibby (400) me (800) and Scott (1600). Tanner had a good race and brought us up to 4th place, gibby did well and only got beat by one sprinter putting us at 5th, I caught the team that passed us in the 400 but couldnt quite get bryson. I felt strong and It was a really fun race, I gave it to scott who stayed with caden and out kicked him in the last 200m! we got 3rd!
I ran the Hurdles and 2 4x100 teams. Hurdles suck. My first team got 53 and the second got 51... we are not sprinters haha.
I also jogged the open mile with an impresseve time of 7 mins haha but we got to watch coach race and that always fun ;). we cooled down for milage
I hung out with Brecken the whole meet so all in all it was a fun meet.

2mile warm up right as I got my letter for exec. I ran out to hidden valley and opened it.. I didnt make it onto exec.. I came back and did striders with scott and bryson.
I got pretty good position and just worked on staying on pace for the first 800m. Scott passed me on the 3rd lap and we both just started catching people. At the last 200m I just let it all out and finished right when the 4:49 changed to 50 so I thought I qualified for BYU. I didn't..

We warmed up at 11:30 and when we got back the 3rd heat had arleady started. Caden, Swaney, Joe, Josh Thatcher and I all missed our races. Lots of people were mad but I just left and ran the rest of my milage for the day.
I think we get caught up in the little things and sometimes miss the big things in life. I ALMOST qualified for BYU yesterday. I ALMOST got onto exec. I ALMOST made it on time for our 800m race. But life isnt about ALMOSTS, its about what acctually happens. Most of the things in my life have just been handed to me, like my house, family, education and desire for running. But if you are just handed somthing than you take it for granted. I complain sometimes about my life but im an (arguably) smart, decent looking, christian, white, landowning, literate, male. I shouldnt be complaining about anything. The stuff that means something to me is all what ive had to fight for. What Ive had to work for and work on, like relationships with people, my education, hitting the right times in track and cross country. I have to do every little thing, not just go most of the way or ALMOST give it my all. I have to fight for what I want in life.

We started out towards the boneyard but I had to turn around early because Student Council was painting the parking lots. I ended up with around 5. I did some laps waiting for more painters to show up. I got to paint with sarah so add that to the lists of crafts we do together.
3 miles all by my self. I found a water bottle in the road by my house and it hadnt been opened so I drank It. I think it was sent from heaven because man was it hot today.
I jammed with brock and jayden and cut my own hair by the use of mirrors.

BHNP Time Trial 1 (2 Miles) 00:11:30, Place overall: 5 | | 3 easy this morning to one of the most colorful sunrises of the summer.
Brock and I finished laying sod and we were pretty beat but we headed over for the time trial
2 mile warm up. Its crazy how well I know that course.
The first mile I was fighting down lunch and worrying about my pace but as we all went around the cone to go sideways right after the mile mark I just focused on how many seconds scott was ahead of me by first 10, then 9 after the 180 degree tree he was only 4. I passed him right before the hill and started working towards sage. I felt really good and just listened to my body. I didnt catch him but I ended 5th (Josh and tanner are gone) so that is right where I want to be,

After that 5 min I started to fall back and got passed by Gibby but I still felt like I was a part of something more than just Boston's workout. Im excited to get Tanner, Rex and Jaiden back so we have the whole KREWMBULONIMBUS back again for Cedar.

drove up to cedar and it got really cloudy. I set up an umbrella shelter and read Poisonwood. The girls ran really well and I dropped some bombs right before the race. Everything felt really good. We did our prayer and call out in front and that needs to become a tradition. It was sooo cool.
Race: I got a good position in the middle of the front pack and just really focused on staying with the Krewmbulonimbus. I was number 7 and for the first mile and a half I was right with them. It may have been a little faster than I usually go but I think im going to adopt that strategy. I started to fall behind but kept it positive and just focused on tempo and having a good time. On the last mini-lap Nick Hill and Gillespe passed me. I just wore it and tried to keep up. On the last 100m Mitchell passed me. I didnt have all the kick I wanted but the grouping strategy benefited me in the long run. I fineshed right behind him with a 16:09, the exact time I got last year at the Cedar Invite.
5x30s Fartlek. I had runners high to the max and Im just so glad to be on varsity for SUU.
Greatful For: Brock, we passed each other on the track (because we were going different ways) and he yelled "you are number 7!" I knew that but it was so great to see that he was counting and was watching for me. He had a great race and says he feels great. He beat my first race time.

Hung out with sage after decorating the School we went back to school shopping at the D.I. with brock.
2 mile warm up. Then 4x mile repeats at 6:00min pace. I hit 5:58, 5:50, 6;03 then 5:52. barefoot cooldown and core with spencer then I led stretches. Really great workout. Im so pumped! the team is looking beautiful (mainly the sophomore girls team but you know).
To make this day better: I bought a MAROON STAGG FLYING V R 500 for $120. Its soo beautiful.
Then I headed over to Jazzys to play in Austins band Aisle 21. I learned all 3 songs right before and we rocked it. I had my hair over my face like a good bass player should. Animal Coast played well.

My feet are feeling 95%. I am so ready for SUU.

Dispite my mistep I just focused on having a good race. The team seemed to do really well for the first 3 races. We warmed up to the Dollar store and tanner told a homeless man to have a nice day, Jaiden said thanks you to haha.
I went out alright maybe 14-15th place. Me and Tanner worked up to 8th and 9th. The whole first mile went really well. 2nd mile I closed the gap a little between me and bryson but going with the top guys takes its toll and Nick Hill and Dallin Gillespe passed me. 600m before the finish Mitchell passed me again just like last week and I took 11th just like last year haha. Im fine with it because I stayed top 7 for the next week. Times come and go but Banners hang forever haha

2 mile warm up, all the bathrooms were full so I was ready to burst at the starting line. I even told Joe, caden and scott to just get out ahead of me just in case haha
I got out way nice and just like I planned, worked with scott the whole first mile to just pick off kids. Ran on top of most bales because my legs are long enough and it gives you a boost. Came through mile at 5:25. Broke the top 10 and just kept beating people on the bales. I felt better and better and really just let the race run its course. It was way fun and painful and I finished 6th and got a keychain woot woot.

just the varsity guys and gals in warner valley. 3 mile warm up and 30 min progression run back and beyond the cars on to the revamped dike. coach had most of us tap out at 25 mins and I am thankful we did. I worked with bryson the whole time but it was really hot and nasty. I gathered myself after rubbing down in mud to speed up the evaporation process therefore cooling my core and man was it in need of some cooling. I think today was the hottest I have ever felt. It was like my mind absorbed a habanero or something. All I wanted to do was take off my shorts and find a pipe to sleep in but thats maybe the runners high anyways..

I went out pretty fast in the first 800m and slowed my pace so I would have something left at the end (my old race strategy) but during the race I felt like I was getting passed by so many people and I thought for sure I was going to lose the varsity spot until the last mile. coach talked all week about how we are a 3rd mile team and I started to push past some of the congealled groups. I passed 8 kids in the last 150m. I had a pretty great race after all and the TEAM did amazing! Its so great to see all of them getting T-shirts. I feel left out sometimes haha but its all good. We just need to get tanner the right amount of food haha

| | woke up at gouldings cabin and we drove out to this big prarie right before you drop into Bryce Canyon. I caught a horned toad and showed oliver, he got so excited to see it move (he thought i killed it) haha. Its crazy, I started running right after he was born so i guess coach gained quite a few sons that season. There are around 15 senior boys and its going to be weird when we all leave.
anyway, 2 miles at 8 min pace then 4 at sub7 min then we did these fartleks 3 mins off 3 mins on and coach drove right next to me, so I wasnt alone the whole time haha. We were all pretty burned but it was a great workout/film session from everyone. the documentary is really coming together ;)

at 9:00pm we did our ladder workout to prep for Woodbridge. warm up and 2 mile warm up while the girls soccer was wrapping up a 1-0 win. It was 200 400 800 1200 1600 1200 800 400 200. I hit my times (38/1:14 ish) and everything felt pretty smooth arm and breathing wise. It was humid but that usually just reminds me of Costa Rica so I feel happy haha. Great stuff from the TEAM. barefoot cooldown and ultragen.

Woodbridge is by far the most crowded race ive ever been to. we warmed up and everything seemed so surreal, we were surrounded by some of the best teams in the country. They annouced our TEAM. I had been told to get out fast. I was top 30or 40 but soon was getting passed by hordes of californians. I knew the race was going to be fast, especially the first mile. After the first mile I was feeling sick but I also felt the "third lung" coach talked about so I just held on. The whole race seems like a blur but I remeber seeing Weston (my cousin from Mtn Vista Colo.) pass me. Towards the end of the race I was getting passed by a lot of people so I dropped the pace to as fast as I could and that bumped me up 15ish spots before the end.

We warmed up, prayed etc.
The whole first mile I was right with the top guys. The big lap I started to fall back a bit but I just had to go guts out and just work through everything. On the last lap there is the road with little pebbles where our TEAM sets up. When I ran through them they were 2 or 3 kids deep and all just screaming their lungs out. It was an amazing experience. Usually when I race I block out all the outside noise whatever (except I look for bright green hats) but I just took in the excitement and litterally ran with it. I ran up the course and turned and all I could think about was all the memories of the last 4 years. I finished 13 seconds ahead of Matt Thatcher. Awesome race.

Made a Manwich and a few sandwiches. Girls ran really strong despite some unforseen problems.

The gun went off. I was right with the top group. We worked up the asphalt and around the flower beds. I was behind Jaiden maybe 15 seconds. Stansburys guys caught me and we were working with each other throught the downhill and uphill. Towards the pond I got passed by 4-5 guys but just worked on staying with it. Around the pond and up the hill is where my power lies and I passed a few folks. When we hit the 1200 I just really let it loose. This is my last highschool race in utah ever. I felt really strong in the finish and ended up 22. My goal was 21 but I didnt have a lot to go off of so I am really pleased with my improvment from last year. I couldve raced better overall and that was largely the consenses from the whole TEAM. We WON STATE even on a bit of an off day. Reaping the Harvest from Sewing the Seeds all season long. All the work ive put in since July is coming together.

Started out with 4x200m and then did 8x400m at 1:10-1:12 pace, and then 4x400m at sub 1:10 pace. I was with the other top 7 for the whole time. It was windy, chilly and rainy but thats what we need to prepare for.
Core & Stretch and a long hot shower to get the mud off. one of the hardest days of the season for me but in the words of Elite Minds "don't try to avoid pain; embrace it." Let it teach you.

I went as a Chief and wore my headress. Scott was donald trump. sage was Leroy a cocaine dealer from Waco Texas in the early 70's. Joe was a cowboy. Coach was the Ghost of Josh Mcphie. Gibby was a dementor/death thing. Tanner and Josh were lame (they didnt dress up). The whole girls team was McFarland and Coach White (Powell) with his cute little bike. Bryson was Richard Simmons.

I drummed for the 1st half of the football game and escorted Thor for the 2nd half. It was really disarming to watch them lose in the last minute or so... to see the hard work fall short in their tears and cussing. They have faced so much adversity this year. I am proud of our football team. Usually we give them a hard time but it is a Godsend for a lot of these boys. Go Thunder.

Greatful for; Tissues. Awards night was one of the best and worst feelings ive ever had. It is hard to force 4 years of complete adventure into 2 hours, but I tried and I ended up crying like a baby. I love this TEAM and I love running.
